Police: Bristol Twp. triple shooting possible result of home invasion

Posted: Tuesday, July 8, 2014

One 31-year-old Bristol Township man was killed and two others were critically injured in a triple shooting during a possible home invasion in Bristol Township’s Winder Village section early Tuesday morning, police said.
Tyrone Moss, of Fleetwing Drive, was found shot in the head in the 900 block of Winder Drive, where he was pronounced dead, Acting Bristol Township Police Chief Lt. John Godzieba said in a media update Tuesday afternoon.
Joshua Johnson, 29, who lives in the home where the shooting occurred, was also shot in the head. He is in critical condition and on life support at Aria Health’s Torresdale campus in Philadelphia, according to Godzieba.
A third man, Lamel Duffy, 24, of Veterans Highway in Middletown, was shot in the back and he was listed in critical condition at Aria on Tuesday.
Police have not identified any suspects, and officers are still combing the area for evidence, Godzieba said. Shell casings were found at the scene and appear to be from the same weapon, which has not been recovered, he added.
"We really don't know if one of the injured parties is part of this or if we are looking for someone outside," Godzieba said. "We do not know who pulled the trigger. We are not making any assumptions at this point."
There was no sign of forced entry to the home where the shooting occurred, Godzieba said, adding that it was reported to police shortly before 1 a.m. Johnson and Moss were both found inside the home. Duffy managed to run to the home of a neighbor, who called police, Godzieba said.
Police blocked off Winder Drive between Fayette Drive and Elmhurst Avenue Tuesday morning as they investigated the scene. Bucks County and Bristol Township detectives could be seen roaming around the house and onto other nearby properties.

About two dozen residents, friends and family members gathered near a taped-off section of Winder Drive. Some were visibly shaken and upset at what they said was a lack of information from police. Several friends and family at the scene declined to comment.
Bristol Township resident Kendra Jones said that she knows Johnson, a father of two. She said that he had been shot in Philadelphia years ago and the injuries left him needing to use a wheelchair, she said. Jones said the person who shot Johnson was never arrested.
"He was a good guy," Jones added.
The shooting occurred at the same street where a 19-year-old Bristol Township man was killed six years ago; that murder remains unsolved.
Jimmy Dennis Moore was shot in the head and left to die in the street in front of his Winder Drive home around 3:30 a.m. Sept. 16, 2007. At the time of his death, Moore had an 18-month-old daughter and was studying electronics at Pennco Tech, a family member had said at the time.
Hours before he was killed, Moore was out with a group of friends who went to Philadelphia to attend a party hosted by Temple University students, the family member had said. When the group couldn't get into the party, they opted to get dinner in the city before returning to Bristol Township.
