Man accused of hitting woman with pizza, making death threats

When a man hits your head with a piece of pizza pie, that’s simple assault, police say.
When the same man allegedly threatens to kill you after he finishes a bottle of vodka, that’s terroristic threats.
A Lower Southampton man is charged with both crimes as well as disorderly conduct and harassment in connection with an argument that turned physical at his home.
Police were called to a home on Avenue F in the Trevose section of the township about 1:30 p.m. Friday for a report of a domestic in progress. A woman there told police she was on the phone when James Keeney, 53, started yelling at her and hit her on the head with a piece of pizza, according to police.
Keeney was drinking vodka and allegedly told the victim he was going to kill her when he finished the bottle, police said. The woman said that he threatened to kill her with a handgun he owned, though neither she nor Keeney claimed to know where the gun was located, police said.
Police say that Keeney admitted to hitting the woman with a piece of pizza, but denied threatening her.
The woman declined to press charges and then loaded some clothing and pets into a car, and Keeney agreed to behave himself, police said.
He didn’t, they added.
After clearing the call, police saw Keeney come outside the house and yell at the woman as she attempted to leave. Keeney, who police described as intoxicated, jumped onto the hood of the car while yelling at the woman, police said.
The officers said that they were two houses away as the commotion outside was happening and they could hear Keeney yelling, according to the police report. The officers returned to the home and took Keeney into custody. The woman also provided a written statement.
He was arraigned before Lower Southampton District Judge John Waltman and released from Bucks County prison after posting 10 percent of $5,000 bail. Among the bail conditions that Waltman set were that Keeney have no contact with the woman, he can’t return to his home and must turn over to police his Glock handgun.
