Bensalem cops: Couple robbed, assaulted alleged drug buyer

Three Philadelphia residents are accused of robbing a man they were allegedly driving to Philadelphia to buy drugs, then assaulting him before pushing him out of a moving car.
Bensalem police allege the man contacted acquaintance Melissa Stout, 30, on June 22 and arranged for her to drive him to Philadelphia to purchase drugs. The victim isn't being identified because he wasn't charged with a crime despite the drug-buying allegation.
Melissa Stout
The victim said Stout picked him up in a Bristol Pike parking lot in a silver minivan with two men he didn’t know, according to a probable cause affidavit. As they were driving toward Philadelphia, he said one of the men started hitting and strangling him, while Stout took $1,700 from his pockets, according to the affidavit. Then, Stout and one of the men pushed the victim out of the moving minivan, the affidavit said.
The van briefly stopped at Bristol Pike and Colonial Avenue after hitting a curb that flattened a rear tire, police said. One of the men ran away with the money, with the victim chasing him. A witness saw Stout get back in the minivan and drive south on Bristol Pike, where she struck another vehicle, the affidavit said. Philadelphia police later found the minivan in a bank parking lot, according to the affidavit.
The victim was treated for unspecified injuries at the University of Pennsylvania and released, police said.
Bryan Rosen
Police identified the two men in the minivan as Bryan Rosen, 34, Stout’s boyfriend, court documents said. Stout and Rosen were arrested and arraigned before Bensalem District Judge Leonard Brown Thursday on robbery, conspiracy, aggravated and simple assault and related charges, and sent to Bucks County prison in lieu of 10 percent of $250,000 bail each.
Bensalem police have issued an arrest warrant for the third person, Edward Carter, 39, of Philadelphia, who faces the same charges as Stout and Rosen.
