A now former Neshaminy middle school custodian is accused of showing three teenage girls pictures of male genitalia at a Middletown movie theater last year, days after he allegedly exposed himself to a woman at Bucks County Community College.
Robert Gimello, 25, of Middletown, was arrested in November but more charges were added Wednesday in connection with the incident, which occurred during a showing of the action movie “Thor 2” at the United Artists Theater in the 400 block of Middletown Boulevard.
At the time of his arrest, he was charged with multiple counts of corruption of minors, disorderly conduct, open lewdness and harassment and was freed after posting 10 percent of his $100,000 bail.

Those original charges were incorporated into the additional ones during an arraignment Wednesday before Middletown District Judge John Kelly Jr. The new charges are dissemination of explicit sexual material to a minor, unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communication device and corruption of minors, all third-degree felonies. He was released again after posting 10 percent of his $100,000 bail.
Middletown police were called to the United Artists Theater shortly before 10 p.m. Nov. 23 after a woman reported a man was exposing himself in the theater.
Around the same time, the theater manager called police and reported a man confronting girls outside a restroom and showing them photos of male genitalia, according to the original probable cause affidavit.
The three girls, who were 13 and 14 years old, claimed that Gimello was seated in front of them in the theater and “continually” showed them pictures of a penis on his cellphone, according to court documents. The girls claimed that Gimello angled the phone in such a way they would see the pictures. He also would continually look at the girls to make eye contact, police said.
Gimello’s alleged behavior scared the girls who left the theater and went to a restroom. When they went to leave the bathroom, the suspect was waiting outside, police said.
Management told Gimello to leave the theater and he was taken into police custody a short time later outside a nearby restaurant, police said. The girls allegedly identified him as the man in the theater with the cellphone pictures. Police say that Gimello later admitted to having picture of his penis on his cellphone, court documents show.
In December, charges of indecent exposure and open lewdness were filed against Gimello for allegedly twice exposing his genitals to a woman at Bucks County Community College in Newtown Township. The second time occurred a few days before the Middletown theater incident, according to police and court records. He is awaiting trial in Bucks County Court on those charges, according to court records.
At the time of both alleged incidents, Gimello worked as a custodian at Neshaminy’s Maple Point Middle School for four years, authorities said. He is no longer employed at the school district, police said.
